Vic Nees (1936-2013) concentrates quasi exclusively on choral music, which makes him an expert in this genre. Choral music does not hold any secrets for him anymore; he has explored the possibilities and knows the boundaries. Vic Nees interprets the lyrics of songs in a thorough way and has an impeccable understanding of his art. His ideas are refreshing and original, making him a figurehead of Flemish choral music.

The conductor on this cd is Johan Duijck, who is the chorus master of the Flemish Radio Choir and the Choir of the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields in London and the Ghent Madrigal Choir. Duijck will be in the picture as a composer and as a talented pianist with his own compositions on the next In Flanders' Fileds Volume 36.
